GEXVal Inc. received the ESQR’s Quality Achievements Award in Dubai on December 10.
The ESQR Quality Achievements Award, presented by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR*) recognizes organizations, companies, governments, and individuals for their exceptional contributions to improving quality management in research and development across various industries. This prestigious award is based on independent research and recommendations from industry professionals and stakeholders in each field. Notable past winners from the pharmaceutical industry include Janssen Pharmaceutica, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, and Merck & Co. This year, Kyushu University Hospital, Shonan Kamakura General Hospital were honored with the award from Japan.
Juran Kato, Ph.D., President and CEO of GEXVal Inc., and Nobuaki Hirashima, Chief Business Officer (CBO), attended the award ceremony. CBO Hirashima remarked, “It was a pleasant surprise that GEXVal was awarded the ESQR’s Quality Achievements Award. In the past, from Japan, it has always been large companies such as Takeda, Kao, DNP, and ANA who received the award. We are very pleased and proud to be recognized as a small company.” CBO Hirashima added, “I believe that GEXVal was recognized for its effort in our clinical trial in Australia, operated by a virtual multidisciplinary global team. We are grateful to the patient advocacy groups and healthcare professionals who support our efforts. We remain committed to achieving high quality results.”
Approximately 50 institutions from over 40 countries attended the Awards Presentation Ceremony. During the event, Dr. Juran Kato shared her experiences and devotion as an entrepreneur in delivering innovative and life-changing medicines to patients and families affected by rare and untreatable diseases. At the Gala Dinner, the “access to medicine” issues for neurobehavioral and cognitive disorders were actively discussed with Prof. Nakamura, the Head of Kyushu University Hospital, Dr. Kobayashi, the Executive Director of Shonan Kamakura General Hospital, and other medical professionals from Europe and emerging countries.
