GEXVal CEO to Present at Data Science Meeting of Genome Technology Research

Dr. Juran Kato, CEO of GEXVal Inc., will be presenting at the 8th Data Science Meeting of the Genome Technology Research Association, scheduled to take place at the University of Tokyo on September 6th.

Established in 1996, this association has been at the forefront of promoting the social implementation of genome technology through various initiatives, including international research conferences. The association’s founding closely followed the initiation of Japan’s participation in the International Human Genome Project, led by Professor Yoshiyuki Sakaki, MD PhD, a renowned genomics pioneer and the association’s first president. From 1995 to 1998, Professor Sakaki, now an emeritus professor at the University of Tokyo, served as Japan’s representative to the International Human Genome Project, leading the national research team in this groundbreaking global initiative.

Currently, the association is led by Dr. Hiroyuki Aburatani, MD PhD, who has transitioned from his role as professor of Genome Science at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), University of Tokyo. Dr. Aburatani now leads the newly established Social Collaboration Research Department in Genome Science & Medicine at RCAST. In this new role, he continues to spearhead advancements in genome science and medicine, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and society. Under his continued leadership, the association continues to serves as an academic forum that brings together key opinion leaders and experts in genomics and adjacent fields. Its primary aim remains to advance technology and strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and society via public-private-partnerships, continuing the legacy of international cooperation and scientific excellence established during the Human Genome Project era.  

Among the distinguished lineup of leading academic experts and professors in genomics and data science who will be presenting, GEXVal’s CEO has been specifically invited by Dr. Aburatani to speak.
